blessed with friends

So, I just have to take a quick moment tonight to thank my friends. In the past 7 days, I have really been blessed by some of them. At this phase in my life, being so busy with 3 kids and running a household and helping a self-employed husband, I have truly seen the fruit of continuing, as much as possible, the character of people I call my friends! It's so easy to forget or easily overlook others who mean something to us...but this week - I've been blessed!

Let's see...here's what I've been given this week by friends - I will leave them anonymous - but they will know who they are:

• Starbucks gift card
• a really cool pen - I've always wanted my own, special pen - and this one is really neat
• I'm not going to say exactly what this next friend did for me this week here on my blog, but I can say that I have a friend who does so much for our family - her giving heart is amazing...and this week, she gave again for us...her time, effort, among other stuff...I hope she knows who she is if she reads this blog post...here's a clue - I just got off the phone with you about an hour ago.
• help with childcare - and Ms. P LOVES going to this person's house - thank you for all you do!
• 4 eggs (I know that's kinda silly...Sweet Hubby was intent on making fried rice for lunch today and we didn't have enough eggs...)

For some reason, I always am given clothing by friends, too - and I so appreciate it! Of course, I could take these clothing "gifts" as good or bad. 1) Do I dress that bad that they feel I need a better wardrobe - they feel sorry for me so they give me something of theirs?! (tee hee) - or - 2) they truly think I would enjoy the article of clothing that (for whatever reason) they are giving to me. I choose to gratefully and happily take it the second way. There is nothing worse than giving people clothing for them (or their kids) that doesn't get used. Believe me - if you give me clothing - it will get worn - and I will happily think of the person who gave it to me everytime I put it on! :)

Thanks to all of my friends (whether you gave me something this week or not)! :) I appreciate everyone so much during this busy, busy season of life...even if I don't see you as much as before we had kids. :)
